Who is the Second Amendment Defense and Education Coalition?
The Second Amendment Defense and Education Coalition, Ltd (SADEC) was organized for the purposes of (i) providing educational opportunities regarding the legal and constitutional right to bear arms and (ii) defending and/or assisting in the defense of the rights of citizens to bear arms. In each case, as secured by federal and/or state laws, including by the constitution of the United States of America.
SADEC was formed on January 6, 2023, and has received 501(c)(3) charity recognition with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). While deductibility of charitable contributions varies according to a taxpayer’s particular circumstances, deductions to SADEC will generally be deductible. SADEC suggests that any potential contributor consults with their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any contributions to be made to SADEC.
Board Members
Eric Callis is a firearms instructor, educator, technologist, and competitive shooter who has been the president of the largest private gun club in Illinois for the past four years. Eric has been active in the second amendment community for over twenty years and is dedicated to defending the right of citizens to keep and bear arms in the manner the founding fathers intended.
Todd Vandermyde is the former NRA contract lobbyist for Illinois, a heavy equipment operator, and a youtube personality. He has a long history of supporting legislative and legal change to defend and preserve the second amendment rights of Illinois citizens.
Brian O’Neil is an Illinois-licensed attorney who has served on and represented numerous non-profit organizations. He brings a passion for hunting, civil rights, and the right to keep and bear arms to SADEC.
Peter Alexopoulos is a business executive, competition shooter, and firearms instructor who keeps a close pulse on the firearms training industry, developing relationships and making connections.
